Obituary for Kenneth Levorn Peacock

Mr. Kenneth Levorn Peacock, 77 of Lucedale, MS, (formerly of Escatawpa and Richton) passed away Friday, June 7, 2019 at his home in Lucedale surrounded by his family.
He was born November 25, 1941, in Roswell, New Mexico.
Kenneth was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather who enjoyed many hobbies and crafts such as cooking, canning, gardening, bird watching, making walking canes from bamboo, and meat processing for local hunters. Kenneth was a person who was passionate about helping people and taking care of his family. He has suffered many years with congestive heart failure and AFIB, and this world lost a strong, loving, courageous man with a passion for life and Jesus! He will be missed by all who knew him, especially his wife of almost 60 years, Darlene Ehlers Peacock and his four children.
Kenneth came to Mississippi from New Mexico in 1959 where he met his wife of 59 years, Darlene Ehlers Peacock. He was always a hard-working man and began working for Thiokol Chemical back in 1964, continued working there when it became Morton-Thiokol and then Rohm & Haas. He retired from Rohm & Haas in 1998 after 34 years. He missed it until the day he passed.
Kenneth never served his country in the military, but did serve his community. He was one of the last two surviving FOUNDING members of the Escatawpa Volunteer Fire Department. He also served on the Jackson County Sheriff’s Flotilla when Honorable Pete Pope was the Sheriff.
He was preceded in death by his parents; Jesse and Mae Peacock, two brothers; Winston Peacock, and Foney Peacock, three sisters; Madge Powell; Aileen Lard and Dorotha Miller; and infant two grandsons; Jerod Michael Crowley and Dustin Eugene Pierce.
Survivors include his loving wife, Darlene, daughters and their husbands, Teresa and Rev. Gary Pierce, Gayla and Michael Crowley, and Julie Peacock; and his son and his wife, Kenneth and Janet Peacock. Grandchildren and their spouses; Joshua(Ashley) Pierce, Chasity (Shane) Mason, Ashley (Rick) Hilsabeck, Luke (Kayla) Pierce, Heath (Rachell) Pierce, Megan (Chad) Walley, Paige (Dustin) Delmas, Courtney (Jaron) Tipton, and Jesse Pierce.

Great Grandchildren are: Natalie Pierce; Abby and Charlie Pierce; Silas and Amos Mason; Sadie and Maggie Hilsabeck; Emma and Logan Pierce; Gracie, Anna Kate, Braxton and Jase Walley; Kaden and Avery Tipton; Parker Pierce and honorary great-grandchild, Kamdyn Clark.
He is also survived by his three brothers, Lloyd (Mary) Peacock of Lovington New Mexico; Glen Peacock of Albuquerque, New Mexico; Mark Deward (Betty) Peacock of Moss Point, MS; and sister-in-law, Teresa Peacock (widow of brother, Foney), Lubbuck, Texas.
Visitation will be Sunday afternoon June 9, 2019 from 2:00-3:00 pm at Second Chance Ministries on Highway 63 in Lucedale, MS with the service to follow. His funeral service will begin shortly thereafter with Rev. Johnny Duncan, Bro. Wendell Pruit and Rev. Gary Pierce officiating. Burial will be at Serene Memorial Cemetery, Escatawpa, MS.
