Obituary for Dannielle Lisa Darcy

Dannielle Lisa Darcy, 64, of Ocean Springs, MS, passed away on Monday, June 3, 2019 after a long, hard battle with cancer. She was born December 24, 1954 in Waterville, Maine. She loved to read and made certain to teach her grandchildren a love and appreciation of books.

Dannielle proudly served in the U.S. Navy, just as her father did, and retired from Kings Bay, GA in January, 1995. During her Navy career, she received the Navy Commendation Medal; Navy Achievement Medal; 2nd National Defense Service Medal; .45 Caliber Sharpshooter Ribbon; 4th Overseas Service Ribbon; Joint Service Commendation Medal; and the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal.

Dannielle was preceded in death by her parents, John Sylvester Darcy and Dorothy Ann Donahue.

Dannielle is survived by her daughters, Darcy (Jeremy) Rogers and Cassandra Stevers; siblings, Shawn (Susan) Darcy of California, Sheilah (Robert) Baran of New Jersey, and Michelle (Roger) Sponseller of Ohio; grandchildren, Brayden Rogers, Avery Rogers, Ainslee Rogers, and Leo Stevers; and father of her children, Robert Stevers of Alabama; along with her beloved family in Maine, and her Navy “family” all over the world, who were dear to her heart and on her mind until the the end.
