Robert Vernon “Bob” Hart, 85, of Pascagoula, MS, passed away on Thursday, November 9, 2017 in Pascagoula. Bob, also known affectionately by many as “Pop” or by his self title of “Robert Ratt”, was born on December 13, 1931, in Kiln, MS to the late Alexander Joseph and Ethel Hart. He worked at Ingalls Shipbuilding for 38 years before retiring. Prior to his shipbuilding career, he served in the U.S. Navy for 4 years during the Korean War, where he was a 1st class radio operator. His main focus in life was serving the Lord, and being a dedicated husband, father, and Pop to his family. He enjoyed jazz music, and babysitting his grandchildren every chance he could.

Along with his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his brothers, Hollis Hart and Harold Joe Hart.

He is survived by his lifetime sweetheart and loving wife of 64 years, Sujo “Sudie” Hart; daughters, Becky Hart (Charles) Freeman; Leighann Shepherd, Teri Hart (Mark) Yount; grandchildren, Chad (Tracy) Freeman, Kristin (Jay) Ford, Blakney (Keleigh) Freeman, Brittany (Josh) Steiner, Abigail Yount, and Anna Claire Yount; great-grandchildren, Barron, Carsen, Collyn, Jay Patrick, Stella, Cameron, and Emmy-Hart; sister, Dolores Hart (Walter Lee) Pol; beloved dog, Poochie and cat, K.D.; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

The visitation will be held on Monday, November 13, 2017, from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m. at New Horizon Ministries in Moss Point, MS. Funeral service will begin at 1:00 p.m. with Brother Don Edeker officiating. Interment will follow at Jackson County Memorial Park in Pascagoula.
