Obituary for Kevin Hyatt

Kevin Moody Hyatt, 54, of Mobile, AL, passed away on Thursday, March 22, 2018 in Hurley, MS. Kevin was born October 3, 1963 in Mobile. Kevin loved many things in this life, including God, his family, and his work as an Orientation Counselor at the Home of Grace for Men in Vancleve, MS. He was a loving husband, father, brother, son, cousin and friend to so many. He loved his children dearly.
Kevin was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth Lee Hyatt Sr. and a sister, Kimberley Ann Peak.
He is survived by his loving wife, Tara Fuller Hyatt; children, Karter Ethan Hyatt, Kaylen Elizabeth Hyatt, and Rebekah Elizabeth Hyatt; mother, Judith Mabrey; brother, Kenneth Lee (Ramona) Hyatt Jr.; sister, Kelli (Joseph) Sullivan; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Kevin loved the outdoors and spending time with his family. He loved fishing, floundering, crawfishing, camping and going on adventures with his wife, Tara, and their children. Kevin was known as a tough guy in high school, but it was his gentleness that he was known for. Having struggled with addiction himself, Kevin encountered and began following Jesus Christ several years ago, and God used Kevin’s gentleness to minister to others who were battling addiction. Up until his final moments in this life, Kevin was thinking of and praying for the men at the Home of Grace. He had a love for that ministry and those men that could only be from God. Kevin and Tara’s marriage became a living testimony of how God can transform a broken man and a broken marriage into a shining example of love and devotion to others.
The visitation for Kevin will be held on Sunday, March 25, 2018 from 3:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at the Home of Grace Men’s Campus Chapel 14200 Jericho Rd. Vancleave, MS 39565. The funeral service will follow in the chapel beginning at 4:00 p.m. with Bro. Len Chilton and Bro. Terry Glasscock officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be sent the Home of Grace for scholarships in Kevin’s memory.
Heritage Funeral Home, locally owned and operated, in Escatawpa/Moss Point, MS is in charge of arrangements. You may view and sign the online register book for Kevin Moody Hyatt at www.heritagefuneralhome.us
